Well this past weekend was kind of busy with the family reunion and a bridal shower. They were both fun, but I was a little bummed that we didn't get to take the kids to the horse show that was going on in town. Every once in a while the local horse club(not sure if it's a club, but you know what I mean..lol) has a show. We caught part of one a while back, after one of Kaitlin's soccer games, and both the kids really enjoyed it. The show usually has a kids category, so they really like that. It's cute seeing the kids in all their equestrian apparel. I'm just waiting for Kaitlin to say she wants a horse, she loves them. I'm sure she'll figure out sooner or later that a real horse would be more fun than her toy spring horse....lol!

I have to say too, that I've noticed the adults are all very fit...so riding a horse must be a good workout. I wonder how many calories it burns? I might have to try it...lol! I used to ride horses when I was a kid at my aunt and uncles, and I remember loving it back then. Anyone have a horse? Is it good exercise? I'm curious...Leave me a comment! :)

I own 20 horses and riding them is GREAT exercise! It's a fun way to burn calories, too. If you trot for 10 minutes you burn about 3 calories a minute. I've been riding all of my life but I'm also a fat girl trying to lose weight. I hope that riding can be one of my main sources of exercise. Good Luck to you!!
